  • Brush every day, two times a day for two minutes.
  • Only water in the bottle at bedtime, no sweet liquids.
  • Help your child brush all the hard to reach places.
  • Replace a toothbrush every three months.
  • Give every family member his or her own toothbrush.
  • Wipe baby’s gums twice a day — in the morning and right before bed.
  • Do not share utensils with children.
  • Wash pacifiers with soap and water only, do not use your own mouth or saliva.
  • Use a dab of fluoride toothpaste to brush a child’s teeth (the size of a grain of rice).
  • If you are pregnant, get a dental check up before the baby is born.
